Abstract

|
Objectives: To define the difference in the identity of the authors of ¡ºß¿ùÎÖå¡»and ¡º?ð¨Ò®Ìè¡» by analyzing the etymology of Ùã, ?, ì¢, and Íï.
Methods: We analyzed the meaning of three Chinese characters based on oracle bones and bronze inscriptions, and considered examples of their utilization in two books.
Results:In¡ºGangpyeong-Shanghanlun¡», Ùãappears once, ì¢appears 28 times, and Íï appears once. In ¡ºHuangdi Neijing ¡», Ùãappears twice, ì¢appears 24 times, and Íïappears 64 times.
Conclusions: The authors of ¡ºß¿ùÎÖå¡»recognized themselves as ¡®ì¢¡¯, and they were doctors who mainly treated prescriptions in the liquid form represented by ÷·(tang). The authors of ¡ºüÜð¨Ò®Ìè¡»recognized themselves as ¡¯Í, and they were doctors who treated them with a tool represented by ¡°acupuncture.¡±
